Keeping Our Children Safe

Mrs Cait Cooper, Designated Safeguarding Lead - ccooper@chessington.kingston.sch.uk

“Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.  Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play”.

Chessington School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical, mental and emotional welfare of every pupil, both inside and outside of the school premises. We implement a whole-school preventative approach to managing safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all action taken.

At Chessington School our Safeguarding Priorities are:

  • Student Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Delivery of an Outstanding Personal DW Curriculum
  • Prevention of Child-Child abuse supported by the above curriculum
  • Contextual Safeguarding (Local priority to Kingston and Richmond)
