Homework

Homework is one of the most important factors to accelerated progress and is set to be done outside the timetabled curriculum. It is independent study which is important in raising the achievement and progress of students. Homework contributes towards building responsibility, self-discipline and lifelong learning habits.

Homework can take many forms, including research, revising, online testing and worksheets. It does not necessarily always have to take place at home. The school provides a homework club after school and at times it may be necessary for the students to complete the work at school as they require resources which the school can provide.

Actual time required to complete assignments will vary with each student’s study habits, academic skills, and year group. We expect all parents to get involved with their child’s homework be it checking its completed or even just asking questions once it's completed. If your child is spending an unreasonable amount of time doing homework, you should contact your child’s tutor.

We use ClassCharts to upload our homework so that both students and parents can access the details from home. Parents will have received an email with instructions for logging on. However, if you do have any issues with the website please contact the school.
